Csopak, nestled in the hills above Lake Balaton, is one of Hungary’s world-famous wine growing regions. The diversity of local soils, an exceptional microclimate, and a timeless history of viticulture combine to help vintners create wines unique to this area. The distinctive local terroir reflects mineral clays, chalk, and volcanic soil. St. Donat Estate combines historic grapes from local vineyards, natural yeast fermentation, “slow” winemaking, and gentle aging processes to preserve the standout quality of Csopak wines.
